Mimbolian
Most of the myth story data was obtained from direct adaptations of the research results of Robert L. Busenitz et al. in collaboration with Hasanuddin University in 1991. According to data from sources, Balantak's oral literature storytelling aims to inform the younger generation about the heroism of their ancestors in defending their homeland. Likewise, Indonesian language & literature teachers should continue to choose regional literature as local content.
This was used as a strategy to attack the Dutch government. In the attack, his two friends were caught & exiled to Java. Finally, Laginda went to rest in Banggai.
The ancestors of the Balantak tribe initially believed in animism and dynamism. They also believed in the existence of spirits that ruled the earth, evil spirits, and those who brought good luck to humans. Belief in these spirits is very strong.
However, their belief in spirits is still maintained until now. What is meant is that oral literature as a tradition carried out by the supporting community, always takes the form of sacrifices intended for ancestral spirits & guardians of the land and water. For example, releasing several chickens & goats to be offered to the ancestors and guardians of the land and water.
They will often be disturbed by ancestral spirits & guardians of the land and water. In mythical stories with the theme of the Balantak people's belief in spirits, there are almost no significant complications. Belief in the world of spirits & magical objects is called Mimbolian belief.
In the Mimbolian tradition, rituals against the spirits that inhabit the world of the Balantak tribe are often carried out. The ancestors of the Balantak tribe believed that the spirit world inhabited a sacred place called Podosoan. According to the beliefs of the ancestors of the Balantak tribe, taking/cutting down trees/forest products in Podosoan will result in disaster.
