Masade
Indonesia is a country rich in ethnic diversity and tribes. Ancient objects, including ancient Talaud, Minahasa, and Bolaang Mongondow caves, have been discovered in North Sulawesi. However, several studies and archaeological excavations suggest that this island has been occupied since 5000 - 2000 BC.
Their area has 3 central islands: Karakelang, Salibabu & Kabaruan. According to etymology, the most popular opinion says that the word sangir comes from the word Zanger in Dutch. Third, the Siau - Tagulandang people are the native inhabitants of the Siau, Tagulandang & surrounding islands.
Before any religion entered, they generally still adhered to animism & dynamism. This religion is not an animist, anima/animus religion & is not pagan as accused by the Europeans, because they worship 1 power that is considered very powerful even though the ruler is intangible & cannot be represented by a tree / large stone to be worshiped. The teachings of Islam first entered Sangihe from the Philippines with a background of kinship between the Sangihe people and the Philippines because the ancestors of the Sangihe people came from the Philippines, in addition to that, trade and proximity of the region have supported the development of Islamic teachings from the Philippines.
The Old Islamic religion was taught and developed in real terms by a man named Masade approximately 500 years ago. Masade was born an orphan and was found by a husband and wife in the bushes when he was still a baby, his real name was Mawu Masade which means God's gift. The place of worship for the Old Islamic religion is a mosque, while the tool used to call the congregation to Friday prayers is a bell, not a drum.
Until 2007, the number of followers of the Old Islamic religion was estimated at 3000 people. Until now, there are still residents who still obey the rules of this religion even though they only respect the cultural heritage of their ancestors. The second arrival of Islamic teachings was from the Maluku islands, especially from the Ternate & Tidore sultanates.
