Togutil's Animism


In Halmahera's northern and western parts, there is a non-Austronesian language group consisting of the Togutil tribe. Known as the Togutil tribe, it is one of the tribes that live in the interior forests of Central Sulawesi, Indonesia. The Togutil community that lives around the Dodaga river is around 42 households.

In 1915, the Dutch government did try to settle them in the villages of Kusuri & Tobelamo.
