Batin's Animism

The native population of Jambi province includes the Batin tribe. The Batin tribe has Malay elements in its culture & some have combined with Minangkabau culture, many live in Bungo, Merangin, Tebo, and Sarolangun districts. Around 72,000 Batin people are living in the interior of southern central Sumatra. Sakai's Animism

The Sakai people are a group of people who are isolated and still live traditionally and nomadically in an area on the island of Sumatra, Indonesia, precisely west of Bengkalis Regency & west of Siak Regency. Some experts think that the Sakai people are a mixture of Wedoid people and Minangkabau people who migrated around the 14th century. Meanwhile, the Sakai people themselves think that they came from the land of Pagaruyung.
