Kimki's Animism

The Serawai people are the second-largest ethnic group living in the Bengkulu region. An inscription was found in the ancestral grave of Semidang 4 Hamlet in Maras, Talo. According to the stories of their elders, the Serawai people descend from an ancestor named Serunting Sakti, known as "Si Pahit Lidah."

To the east of Yahukimo Regency, there are communities in the Pegunungan Bintang Regency, such as Kimki. In 1973, Christianity entered the Kimki region through the help of a missionary named Jack Hook. The Kimki population was estimated at 350 in 1978.

In 2016, the Bible was translated into the Kimki language.
