Momuna's Animism


The Korowai/Kolufoyanop people live in the interior of the Highlands and Southern Papua, Indonesia, with a population of around 3,000. Their houses typically last five years, although the roofs require ongoing maintenance. The division of territory is based on ancestral decisions, folk traditions, and totem stories.

Sakai's Animism

The Sakai people are a group of people who are isolated and still live traditionally and nomadically in an area on the island of Sumatra, Indonesia, precisely west of Bengkalis Regency & west of Siak Regency. Some experts think that the Sakai people are a mixture of Wedoid people and Minangkabau people who migrated around the 14th century. Meanwhile, the Sakai people themselves think that they came from the land of Pagaruyung. Other tribes from South Sumatra include all tribes from South Sumatra such as the Meranjat tribe. Based on sources obtained by the author from interviews with Pedamaran village officials. Originally the place where they lived was called Talang Lindung Bunyian. At that time, the population concerned adhered to animist beliefs & some others were Buddhists. In Sekampung, Kholik Hamirullah was married to Rio Minak Usang Sekampung's son & appointed Rio with the title Ario Damar, based in a place called Desa Baru.
